Fabio meets.... Fabio!

Both Fabios arrived in Pittsburgh at the same time, so Costumatty and Floofy decided to do some sightseeing together with the Fabios. How awesome is that?!

This is the view of downtown from Mt. Washington. Wait! Someone caught his eye! Was he ogling a hot chick? A long lost paramour?

I think he has a thing for blondes...

Can it be?! It's FABIO! What a coincidence! Can you imagine the attention they attracted???

They admired Heinz Field (in the background) while modeling their new souvenir "GO STEELERS" scarves. Hmmm.... I think I'm going to need to make Fabio a Seahawks scarf when he comes home... that Steeler's one just isn't going to fly in Seattle ;-)

Did you know that Pittsburgh is tghe home of both the original Carnegie Library and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History? Consequently, they have dinosaurs scattered about the city. This T-Rex, complete with cardigan and sneakers, is in front of WQED studios where "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood" was filmed.

The boys were excited to climb on board King Friday and Henrietta Pussycat for a photo op. Costumatty and Floofy were more concerned with whether all the folks watching from the windoes would mind. Now I reallty want to go to Pittsburg to pose with the awesome Mr. Rogers dinosaur!!!

Afterwards, the boys headed home for a nice cup of tea (looks like Free Fabio wasn't on his best behavior during the party).

The End

Thank you so much to Costumatty and Floofy for that awesome tour of Pittsburgh!

Footsie visits costumatty

Finally! Some pictures of Footsie's adventures :-)

Here he is meeting costumatty's dog. This may be the first time that Gideon, a 5lb yorkie, was sniffing level with anyone other than another yorkie.

And here he is meeting one of the neighborhood ladies. She might be a bit old for him, but she was very excited to meet Fabio!

Yesterday he did a bit of work, and we're sorry to say it, but highlighting definitely isn't his forte. Good thing he has his looks to fall back on ;-)

This morning he decided to sleep in then just laze about. Who knew Fabio was an American Girl fan???

thanks to costumatty for sharing her awesome pictures with us!

Disappointment in PA

Kokomini in Pennsylvania was the first stop for Footsie Fabio. I was only able to snag one picture from her, but it was well worth it! This is her puppy, Riley, letting her know what parts of Fabio are off limits - and darn it, she really wanted to peek under his loincloth! Every time I see this picture it makes me giggle, so I just had to share it!

Fabulous Fabio

A couple of months ago I joined this awesome swap group called "Take it or Leave it Round Robin" on Ravelry. It's a slightly different twist on your classic swap. Rather than trading with just one partner, one moderator or "host" will start a box and 10 members will sign up to participate in the box. The host will then fill it with all sorts of awesome knit and crochet related goodies, and send it to the first person on the list. The one who recieves the box will take out a few items of their choosing, refill it with other new and wonderful goodies, and ship it to the next person on the list. This continues until the the last person sends the box back to the host and the box, in theory, will be filled with all sorts of new goodies! Pretty cool, huh? We like to name our boxes after Hollywood hotties and when it came time to vote for "F" I decided to throw Fabio in as a joke. Everyone seemed to think it was pretty funny and Fabio stuck. Yarnslave (our host) decided to go looking for a co-host so we could open the boxes to 20 people instead of just 10. Of course I volunteered for the job!

Now, as I'm sure you can imagine, with Fabio as our name a certain level of cheesyness was required. I think this is the most fun I've ever had in a forum thread! We have such a great group of swappers and they all have a wonderful sense of humor. If I need a smile I have to go check out what Fabio is up to ;-) Eventually it came time to send our boxes out into the world and Fabio Free For All (my box) went wild! His first stop was Spokane - not too far from home, but every little step counts. Just after Fabio left my door it occured to me that I should have crocheted a Fabio doll to travel with the box so we could document his travels. I emailed rachakno in Spokane and she held on to the box until I could get Fabio out to her. Last weekend I crocheted 2 Fabio dolls (one for each box) and shipped them off to rachakno and kokomimi in PA (she had the Footsie box). Free for all is in the green loincloth, Footsie in the blue (with matching socks!)

Stay tuned for updates as Fabio travels across the country! I'll be posting pictures and stories about his adventures :-)
